There are several truths to prayer.
Wanted to share with you a few truths about prayer.
We think of prayer like how we as humans need to breathe. Just like we need to breathe.
A follower of Jesus needs prayer. Prayer is our oxygen as believers.
#1 God moves when prayer actually happens.
There's a saying "I am persuaded that God does everything by prayer, & nothing w/o it".
With prayer God moves.
Prayer changes things, without prayer, things change you.
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1 Thess 5:16-18)
"..The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much..."(James 5:16)
#2 Conditions for approaching God in prayer that will bring answers.
a.) come w/ a reverent submission (Hebrews 12:28)
b.) have faith (Mark 11:22)
c.) pray in Jesus name (John 14:13)
d.) approach God boldly (Hebrews 4:16)
e.) have the right motive (Matt 5:8)
f.) Forgive those who hurt you (Matt 6:14)
g.) Be directed by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:14)
h.) Ask according to Gods word (1 John 5:14)
#3 Spirit of God & word of God work together
Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:1-4)
Let these simple truths through prayer lead you to have an effective prayer life for Jesus.
