We talk about Gods will.
But do we understand what's NOT God's will?
Here are 7 ways to know it's not God's will.
#1 No Peace
If there is no peace, it may not be His will.
Be still, pray about it more & let the Lord orchestrate the movements.
33 For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints. (1 Corinthians 14:33)
There must be true peace when we are making decisions for the Lord.
#2 No fruit
16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? (Matthew 7:16)
Everything we do in ministry MUST bear fruit.
If there's not fruit in what we're doing, we must question to see if it's truly His will.
#3 Confusion
16 For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. (James 3:16)
Do not get confusion mixed up with a lack of knowledge or wisdom.
Just because we don't have the full blueprint on a situation doesn't always mean its confusion.
Confusion is instability, disorder, or disturbance.
If you're feeling any of these, there may be some confusion.
#4 No counsel or community
1 Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; (Psalm 1:1)
The bible is very clear on the power of counsel & community with equally yoked believers.
If it's getting you away from God's house or any type of counsel from men or women of God... ask if it's from God.
#5 Close warnings
Whenever there may have been a life or death situation.
Ask, did the Lord really want you to be there?
Or encounters that might have changed the future of your life if you made those decisions... that lead to a warning to never do it again.
Discern these situations.
It may not be God's will.
#6 Does not put God first
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. (Matthew 6:33)
If it doesn't put God first, it needs to be the first to go.
Any decision that doesn't put God first... I'd question if it comes from Him.
#7 Closed doors
When an opportunity is from God, you don't have to force it.
The doors will open.
Whatever door God opens, no man can shut.
7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write,
‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”: (Revelation 3:7)
Before making any decisions... we must pray. Especially if you sense one of these happening in the midst of your decisions.
Let go & let God.
Surrender, submit & seek Him above all!
In Jesus MIGHTY name.
God bless you!
