God desires to use you for His glory. When you decided to commit your life to Jesus, it’s no longer your life, but His. God placed a calling upon your life and it’s up to you to answer the call or reject it. But thankfully we have a God that won’t call us to do anything more than what He’s capable of doing through us.
In the book of Exodus, God tells Moses that He will send Moses to Pharaoh so that he may take His people out of Egypt and into Israel. Moses responds by saying, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” (Exodus 3:11)
The problem with this question is that Moses is looking at himself as the one who will be the driving force behind God’s saving power for His children. God clearly tells Moses that isn’t the case by responding, “I will certainly be with you…” (Exodus 3:12)
God goes on to explain that it is He, the Lord of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob that will bring His people out of Egypt. But Moses responds with concern after concern. Moses says, “O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.” (Exodus 4:10)
God responds saying He is the one who formed His mouth and makes the blind to see. “Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.” (Exodus 4:12)
Moses continues to look inward at what he is capable of doing instead of what God is capable of doing through Him and He rejects the call of being God’s voice to the people.
The last thing we want to do is reject God’s calling upon our life. When you accept God’s calling and surrender what you think you’re capable of doing by yourself, it’s freeing. You no longer have to worry, doubt, or fear because it isn’t you working anymore. It’s God working through You.
The Word states “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Let go of your own understanding and trust that God is with you and working through you even when you can’t understand it. God will split the seas for you and allow you to walk through the fire unharmed.
